Three Wonders Guide

You are in a square-like place. You have to push squares in order to press enemies. There are bombs that stun enemies and nice fruits and vegetables to eat for bouns points! In the outer area there are some rolling stones and are VERY fast so be sure not to go there. You travel throughout laterals levels and you defeat enemies by shooting them with your weapon (Lou shoots arrows, and Siva shoots knives). When you're hit by something, you lose your clothes, when you're hit again, you die and you lose a life. When you lose all your lives, you must insert another coin in order to continue playing. Pretty simple you jump with a button and you can hold on some ledges. You run with the stick and you shoot with another button. Once you've got the handle, it'll be easy.Shoot'em up, move your Chariot, and shoot straight well you can only shoot diagonally with the power ups of the Wide Shot by pressing the B button you can perform a powerful attack (a huge ray with the Wide Shot set and many fireballs with the Rapid Shot set). There also is a ''tail'' behind you,if a blow hit it, one of its ball will disappear and the blow will too.Nice touch for not being slaughtered by tricky enemies. If there aren't balls anymore, blows will not be blocked. You can pick powerups and other special attacks like bombs that go straight below you. When you die, you'll reappear in any case (if you don't have lives, you'll have to insert a coin) and your enemies will be damaged. Pretty much like any other shoot'em up game, but with some nice addings.

Wonder 3 contains three different games: Midnight Wanderers (side-scrolling action), Chariot (shoot-em-up) and Don't Pull (puzzle).Midnight Wanderers (Roosters in the Japanese version) is a run-and-gun game. The player walks along side-scrolling stages while shooting enemies with a bow. The player can grab power-ups such as stronger shot, or a companion that follows the avatar and shoots. The gameplay is very similar to Ghosts 'N Goblins, made by the same developer. If the avatar gets hit he loses his clothes and will walk in his underwear in the same way. Chariot is a shoot-em-up similar to Gradius. The player shoot enemies on a vertically scrolling screen, collect power-ups and fight end bosses. The player collects power-ups such as three-way shot, stronger laser, extra points, bombs and shields. If the player picks up extra bombs, they attach to his or her ship like a tail. The end bosses are themed after the classic elements, like the wind, the Moon, the sun, etc. Don't Pull is an action puzzle game similar to Pirate Ship Higemaru, Kitten Kaboodle, and the Pengo series. Players control either Don the Rabbit or Pull the Squirrel as they crush monsters by pushing blocks at them.

In this single screen game, the player plays as a bunny or chipmunk walking through a maze full of baddies. The player can push the blocks of the maze to crush the enemies. If a tile that is pushed is blocked by another tile, it is crushed and clears the way through the maze. There also are special blocks, for example a block with a bomb icon, that explodes and stuns any nearby enemies. Bonus points are earned for crushing multiple enemies with a single block push. This is the main face of the team, the one whose demo played on the cabinet to lure players into dropping some coins, and it sure did so back in the day, because, graphically, this is the most beautiful one, although nothing really stands out, not to mention that after the initial “forest” level, it all goes downhill a bit. Other than that this plays a lot like a Ghouls ‘n Ghosts clone, with the main character (or characters, if played co-operatively), jumping around, throwing projectiles from his hands, and collecting powers-ups; mainly items that enhance his attacks, something that , depending on which one the hero holds, can really make a difference in later stages. Speaking of which, those who get easily annoyed by those Arcade games that later on fill the screen with almost unavoidable enemies/projectiles (like me), should better avoid this, because, of the few levels available, the last three(?) are simply irritating. The real problem, however, is that, while solid, this is a pretty simplistic action-platformer that doesn’t really have anything special about it.

The main character of the Chariot and Midnight Wanderers games Lou, was used as an assist only character for Marvel vs. Capcom he also had the option character from Midnight Wanderers known as Firestorm with him. His sprite is like an enlarged version of his sprites from Midnight Wanderers, he shares the same position stance, his trademark jump in which he holds his hand on his hat, and also the same shooting animation. The sprites are recoloured in a more vibrant cartoon-esque style, as opposed to the washed out effect from the games, to match the style of the Marvel vs Capcom series. If two players get Lou, then the second player's pallette is Green, and is most likely based on Siva's color clothing from the Midnight Wanderers game. Player two's firestorm is colored orange. Lou's Companion Siva, has a character based on him as a tribute, featuring on Capcom's Cannon Spike game. The character is called Shiba Shintaro.

It's the aforementioned game, but with a shooting style. However it does have it's own cool elements. The control is same old, same old. However, a press of the B button will engage your super shot, which is either a laser or missile barrage (depending on your current weapon). Which brings me to the other element - your Tail. As you get little orbs, they go on the end of your ship, and wave around as you move like a real tail. They block shots, and a shot of your special weapon uses 3. Empty ones refill over time, which is rather quickly. But it's a unique twist nonetheless, and I like it. Try some neat combos on two player mode. Like any shooting game, when you've played through the game once you're done with it. I've only played all the way through once, myself. However it's still very fun on two player, but there are better shooting games out there.
